Passionate, driven and optimistic are a few of the words I would use to describe myself. I am the 19 year old Monique Best, model and Aspiring actress your Miss Planet International 2019 with dreams bigger then the ocean. In 2018 I matriculated and decided to take a gap year fulfilling my duties as Miss Planet International. As Miss Planet International it is very important for me to create awareness on preserving the Planet and not only for today but for the future generations as well. In my year of reign I’ve visited schools and talked about how important it is to preserve the planet. I have also visited some shark labs and penguin rehabs and interacted with these majestic sea animals. In April I walked SA Fashion week for Lunar which is one of South Africa’s top eco brands. I have also done my first International feature film with Oscar nominated director Darrel Roodt.

Your coronation on March 1st, 2019, marked the materialization of our dream, and a new beginning for the essence of pageantry and the relation with its social – planetary responsibility.

Every day, each event that you attend, through each activity you perform, your advocacy is in front. You are a daughter of Mandela’s legacy, you are a true inspiration.
